Fly fishing for Snook in Homosassa Florida

Homosassa and Chassahowitzka has become a great place to target Snook. Even though in our winter months Snook need to live in our head springs to survive they can be caught throughout the year. My favorite months to target Snook are October/November and March/April. This seems to be the best time to find them in the shallow enough water to sight fish. They, like most species, are opportunistic eaters. I find its not the fly or lure you have on but the presentation that’s most important. Bring your fly or lure across the fishes face with a rip and pause motion usually can trigger a reaction.
